Experience
As a student in middle school, I hated math. I found it confusing and couldn't ever quite grasp the concepts. By high school, I began to develop a love for math, and went on to study it as an undergraduate student at Barnard College, Columbia University. However, I have never forgotten the initial feelings of confusion, and it is my ability to help alleviate these feelings that drives my love of teaching and helping others with math. As an undergraduate at Barnard College, I studied mathematics, so I have a very theoretical and high-level of understanding of mathematics. Beyond just this, upon graduation from undergraduate, I taught middle school mathematics (6, 7, 8 grade) for two years. During these two years of teaching, I also spent countless hours working with students one on one in math who needed extra help understanding material. My math skills span across all levels, and my teaching experience has given me the ability to understand how students think and help to make mathematics attainable to any level.
